Ashley Turner is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor. She has experience with children 3 and older, couples, families, young adults, and adults with special needs, emotional issues, trauma, ADHD, and aggressive behavi ors. In 2015, she expand her education to included clinical counseling. She started working with children in 2004 in the school setting. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, who fight to control conditions that range from depression & anxiety to PTSD & trauma to autism & ADHD. My goal was to make sense of my own reality and through self-discovery, I realized that I could use my life experiences to help others. Whatever the issues may be, there is definitely a process to address the issue and be happy and satisfied with life.James loves spending time with his two teen aged children and his wife of 23 years. James believes that the therapist/clinician relationship is paramount to success. Identifying these two items is the goal of therapy. James’s counseling theory is Solution Focused (what we need to do to feel better and how are we going to do it). Prior to working in schools, James worked at a multitude of mental health agencies with all populations including, Lexington Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counsel, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Mental Health, Department of Social Services, Columbia Metro Treatment Center, and Three Rivers Treatment Center. He has extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults concerning behavior, mental health and substance abuse issues. James has spent the last 15 years working in High Schools and Middle Schools, while maintaining a Private Clinical Practice. ![]() In addition, James is a National Board Certified Teacher/Counselor. James holds the designation of GCDF, Global Career Development Facilitator, so he can help with career decisions. He also has a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from USC. He is licensed by the state of South Carolina as a Professional Counselor. He has a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from USC School of Medicine. James has spent years helping people identify what may be wrong in their lives and helping them develop a plan to address these problems.
